NCMC Tips for a Successful hCG Weight Loss

In order for hCG to be an effective tool in weight management, you must strictly adhere to the following guidelines:

• You must have pharmaceutical grade hCG that is only available by prescription from a licensed physician. Click here for an interesting article on homepathic hCG that was NOT issued through a licensed phyisician.
• You must administer and store the hCG properly (always refrigerated).
• The dietary protocol that Dr. Simeons prescribed for his patients, must be followed without exception, addition, or substitutions.
•  The daily caloric intake cannot exceed 500 Calories.
•  You must follow the strict rules regarding cosmetics, makeup, and moisturizers
•  Medications, vitamins, and/or supplements may reduce (or result in a weight gain) while you are on the program.
•  You must drink at least 64oz of water daily (this helps mobilize the fat).
•  Please advise your doctor of any medical conditions you have, these may impact your weight loss.

Here are some of the medical concerns that would most likely prevent a physician from prescribing hCG for weight loss:
•  If you experience allergic reactions to other substrates
•  a thyroid or adrenal gland disorder
•  an ovarian cyst
•  cancer or a tumor of the breast, ovary, uterus, prostate, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland
•  undiagnosed uterine bleeding
•  heart disease
•  kidney disease
•  epilepsy
•  migraines
•  asthma
•  breast feeding

Again, this is why you should NEVER EVER buy hCG off an internet site and do the program without physician supervision. As with any medical weight loss program, you must be supervised by a trained weight loss physician.

Here are some tips that may help you along the way:
•  Go shopping before you start the Protocol. Sam’s Club (& other retailers) have a large selection of frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts and frozen white, lean fish (i.e. sole, tilapia, halibut), crab and lobster. This way you always have something in your freezer you can quickly defrost.
•  Go shopping every 2-3 days for fresh vegetables. Most of the acceptable vegetables will last several days in the refrigerator.
•  Limit your coffee consumption; drink water or green tea instead.
•  Grill your meat on an outdoor BBQ or an indoor grill (i.e. George Foreman Grill). You will lose more fat and gain flavor!
•  Take advantage of all the available spices. With spices, you can get an Italian, Cajun, Southwest, or Indian themed meal going very quickly.
•  Many patients have successfully substituted bison for red meat.
•  Try and limit red meat to no more than a couple of times a week.
•  Have different meats and vegetables each day (i.e. don’t have chicken for lunch and dinner).
•  Try eating strawberries and oranges; they have fewer calories than apples.
•  Try different types of apples and oranges; it helps liven your meals up.
•  Some patients use Apple Cider Vinegar (since apples and vinegar are both on the original manuscript).
•  Whole Foods is a great source for food and acceptable cosmetics.
•  Don’t use onion and garlic salt, use onion and garlic powder. You can then add salt if needed. (because many seasoned “salts” contain sugar!)
•  Don’t mix your vegetables!
•  No chewing gum or mints.
•  Meat must been lean (i.e. extra lean ground beef is ok, rounds steak is ok, ribeye steak is not). Veal is generally always lean.

HCG Plateau's
Those who are losing more than the average all have a plateau sooner or later. A plateau always corrects, itself, but many patients who have become accustomed to a regular daily loss get unnecessarily worried. Always give it a couple of days before getting alarmed, sometimes your body will hold onto extra water for a day or two.

If it persists for more than a couple of days, you should:
• Check your food journal very carefully! Did you have a spice that was not allowed? Was your portion size right? Did you drink enough water? Did you have a different protein for lunch and dinner?
• Review your cosmetics, do there meet the strict requirements? Did you accidently use a moisturizer?
• How many times did you have red meat?
• Did you mix vegetables?
• Did you eat out? Many restaurant foods contain high amounts of sodium, and you may be holding extra water?
• Menstruation cycle? (consult your doctor)
• Did you have any chewing gum, mints, vitamins, supplements, throat lozenges?
• Are you near the end of the round? It is normal for weight loss to plateau at this point.

If you have experienced a plateau (no weigh loss for 4-6 days) and you’ve ensured that you are following the entire protocol, you may do what Dr. Simeons calls an “Apple Day.”
An apple-day begins at lunch and continues until just before lunch of the following day. You can eat six large apples whenever you feel the hungry. During an apple-day no other food or liquids except plain water are allowed and of water they may only drink just enough to quench an uncomfortable thirst if eating an apple still leaves them thirsty. The apple-day will produce a gratifying loss of weight on the following day, chiefly due to the elimination of water.
